James J. Keenan, Ph.D., M.S., D.A.B.T. is a board-certified toxicologist and Senior Managing Health Scientist with Cardno ChemRisk. He has a wide range of experience including risk assessment, exposure assessment, and toxicology. He earned his PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of California, Riverside, his MS in Veterinary Medical Sciences from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, and his BS in Animal Science from Virginia Tech. Dr. Keenan has served as a testifying expert in a variety of matters, including those involving asbestos, vapor intrusion, various VOCs, and pesticides. He has authored over 40 abstracts and peer-reviewed papers. He has been involved in analyzing, measuring exposure, reconstructing dose and exposure, and assessing risk to consumers, communities and workers exposed to a variety of chemicals such as benzene, toluene, asbestos, trichloroethylene (TCE), tetrachloroethylene (PCE), perchlorate, formaldehyde, arsenic, dioxins/furans, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), pesticides, lead, cadmium, cobalt, copper, chromium, nickel, sensory irritants, and diacetyl.


Amy Madl, PhD, DABT

Amy Madl, PhD, DABTis a Senior Principal Health Scientist with Cardno ChemRisk. She has a M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmacology and toxicology, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT), and has focused her academic and consulting experience in the field of inhalation toxicology. She has 20 years of experience in the sampling and analysis, toxicology, exposure, and human health risk assessment of airborne chemicals in occupational and residential settings, as well as in safety evaluation of contaminants associated with medical devices and consumer products. Dr. Madl has published over 85 abstracts, book chapters and peer-reviewed papers on various exposure, toxicology, and risk-related topics.


Christopher (Kip) Makuc

Christopher (Kip) Makuc is a Managing Director at PACE Claims Services, LLC in Washington, DC. Mr. Makuc has significant experience providing accounting, financial, and litigation support services to clients involved in mass torts, particularly asbestos bodily injury claims. Since joining the firm in 1995, Mr. Makuc has assisted policyholders, insurers, reinsurers, financial institutions, bankruptcy trusts, and their legal counsel on a variety of asbestos environmental, and other product liability and insurance matters, including claim file reviews, claim data analysis, document production reviews, claim categorization, insurance and reinsurance recovery, future liability estimation, coverage analysis and disputes, bankruptcy analyses, and claim cost allocation and insurer billing.
