Steven A. Adelman

Steven A. Adelman is the head of Adelman Law Group, PLLC in Scottsdale, Arizona. His national practice focuses on risk management and litigation regarding safety and security at live events and in public accommodations, and he also serves as an expert witness in crowd-related lawsuits. Steve is Vice President of the Event Safety Alliance and one of the authors of its Event Safety Guide; he has taught "Risk Management in Venues," a graduate seminar offered jointly through Arizona State University's law and business schools; he writes the monthly "Adelman on Venues" newsletter, and he frequently appears as a safety analyst in national and local media.

He presently serves on the Board of Directors of the American College of Coverage and Extra-Contractual Counsel and, since 2014, has served an ALI-appointed Advisor to the Reporters for the Restatement of the Law of Liability Insurance.


Maria Bella

Maria Bella is an expert in sports and recreation and specializes in aquatic safety with Robson Forensic, Inc. She is one of only four Aquatic Facility Operator Instructor Trainers in the United States and has been active in the aquatics industry for more than 30 years. Maria holds a degree in Aquatic Engineering, has designed swimming pool complexes, and has participated in the research and development of chemical treatment systems. In addition to providing forensic consulting, she personally provides instruction to directors of college/ university, municipal, school district, hotel/motel, and water park facilities in standard of care for plant operations as well as training and supervision of lifeguards and maintenance staff.

Brian Carney is a former prosecutor of the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2001, Brian founded WIN Interactive for the purpose of helping lawyers visually express their most effective cases in mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Along with his work at WIN Interactive, Brian frequently lectures for MCLE training courses, the National District Attorney's Association summer conference, the National College of Trial Attorneys Evidence courses, and at various law schools. He also trained prosecutors in several states across the country.

Elizabeth earned her B.A., cum laude and With Distinction in Renaissance Studies from Yale University. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Harvey T. Reid Scholar.

Barry Dillard is the Director of Claims Management with The Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. With over twenty-six years of industry experience, he has spent the last nineteen at Walt Disney World where he blends claim management, compliance, and consulting expertise. Barry leads a team of sixty Cast Members who manage all aspects of the Company's claim management program, including Workers' Compensation and General Liability claims, as well as Compliance and Auditing. Barry is a graduate of Hampton University and received his Master's in Business Administration from Webster University, George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology.

As Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety, she recently and successfully led the company through a Global Food Safety Initiative certification. Before assuming her role at Walgreen Co., Kelly worked in private practice in Chicago where she specialized in medical malpractice defense, representing hospitals, health care systems, physicians, nurses, and specialists in a variety of fields. Ari was awarded a Presidential Commendation for his nationwide substance abuse education efforts in 1995. He was selected as a 2008 American Marshall Fellow and traveled throughout Europe to meet with leaders in the business, legal, political, and Olympic communities. Paul E. White has more than 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer, having tried numerous civil jury trials to verdict. He represents manufacturers, retailers and others in commercial disputes, primarily in claims arising from the manufacture and sale of goods and commercial lease disputes. Paul has particular expertise in disputes involving complex contractual provisions such as those at issue in supply chain litigation and in shopping center lease disputes. Paul also represents lawyers and other professionals in claims arising from law firm breakups, in disputes involving allegations of fiduciary breaches and in professional liability claims. Paul is the Chair of the Complex Commercial Litigation Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA). He also serves as Chair of the MBA's Marathon Bombing Victims Legal Assistance Program and was honored with the 2014 Volunteer Recognition Award for his efforts to help victims of the bombings at the 2013 Boston Marathon. Paul is also an active member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and serves as a Commercial Litigation SLC Liaison to the Retail and Hospitality Committee of DRI. In addition to his civic involvement, Paul is a frequent writer and speaker on deposition and trial techniques, the enforcement of commercial contracts and litigation-related topics. He has also served as a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Paul has been elected a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in the area of business litigation since 2005 (a distinction conferred on fewer than 5% of the Massachusetts bar). He was trained as a barrister in the U.K. before moving to the United States in 1984.


Allyson Wilcox

Allyson Wilcox is the Associate General Counsel for the Americas Region at Beam Suntory Inc. She joined the company in 2009 as Sr. Counsel, was promoted to Assistant General Counsel in 2011 and has held her current position since 2014. Allyson has a wide range of responsibilities for the company's legal and regulatory strategies. In addition to her general corporate practice, she is a member of the Americas' Leadership Team and Beam Suntory's Environmental Management Committee. Allyson oversees the Industry Affairs group which is responsible for legal and corporate social responsibility compliance for the marketing, advertising and sales functions. Allyson is a graduate of the University of California at San Diego. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree at Pepperdine University of Law. In her spare time, Allyson enjoys yoga, swimming and, of course, sampling the company's wonderful line of spirits.
