Heidi G. Goebel is a founder and the Managing Partner of Goebel Anderson PC in Salt Lake City, Utah. She serves as chair of the Product Liability and Commercial Litigation committees of the firm. She has practiced law in four states and has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation matters, products and professional liability and personal injury cases. She has been consistently recognized in Super Lawyers, and as one of Utah's Elite Lawyers by Utah Business Magazine, among other awards. She speaks regularly on trial and litigation strategies and substantive issues nationwide.

Thomas J. Hurney, Jr. is a trial lawyer with Jackson Kelly PLLC in Charleston, West Virginia, with thirty three years' experience in health care, serious injury and wrongful death litigation. He leads the firm's Health Care & Finance Practice Group. A longtime DRI member, Tom is President Elect of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys and a past President of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Tom graduated with honors from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1983.

Gretchen N. Miller is a Shareholder in the Litigation Practice of Greenberg Traurig's Chicago office. She concentrates her practice in product liability and toxic tort litigation in state and federal courts. As trial counsel, Gretchen has tried cases on behalf of manufacturers of consumer, industrial and automotive products. As national counsel, Gretchen oversees litigation nationwide and counsels clients on risk management strategies and compliance with regulatory authorities, including the CPSC, NHTSA and EPA. Gretchen is the Program Chair for the DRI Product Liability Conference, is a member of IADC and is recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer.

Katie S. Phang is a partner on Berger Singerman LLP's Dispute Resolution Team, where she represents a diverse group of clients in commercial litigation matters. She has more than 15 years of trial experience in state and federal courts. Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Phang was a founding partner with Arrastia, Capote & Phang, LLP. Previously, she held positions at the Miami-Dade County and Broward County State Attorney's offices, where she rose to the level of homicide prosecutor and Division Chief. As a former prosecutor and private practitioner, she has tried dozens of jury and bench trials throughout Florida, several of which as Lead Trial Counsel.

Mr. Presnell is a former chair of DRI's Young Lawyers Committee, former Chair of the DRI Annual Meeting, and currently serves on the DRI Law Institute.

Nicholas G. Rennillo was one of the founding partners of Rennillo Deposition & Discovery in 1998. In 2011 Rennillo Deposition & Discovery was acquired by Veritext Legal Solutions. Veritext is the Nation's largest court reporting agency where he has assumed the Regional Vice President of Midwest. Nicholas graduated from Muskingum University with a political science degree. After finishing his undergraduate degree, Nicholas attended Cleveland Marshall College of Law and completed his Juris Doctorate in 1999. Nicholas has used his legal education and technical skills to develop this region's most technically advanced court reporting, legal video and trial presentation firms. Nicholas strongly believes that his legal education plays vital role in the day-to-day management of the Midwest region and Veritext's national court reporting operations.

Patrick J. Sweeney is admitted to practice in State and Federal Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Sweeney practices in the areas of transportation, product liability, premises liability, and matters of general liability. He is actively involved in local, state and national defense organizations. Mr. Sweeney served on the Defense Research Institute's (DRI) Board of Directors from 2006 – 2009. DRI is a national organization of civil defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel with over 23,000 members. Mr. Sweeney served as the Chair of DRI's Product Liability Committee for 2013 – 2015. He served on Pennsylvania Defense Institute's (PDI) Executive committee for three years and was the President of PDI for 2012 – 2013. Mr. Sweeney is also a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association. Mr. Sweeney was recognized as Pennsylvania Super Lawyer – Rising Star for three consecutive years by Law & Politics and Philadelphia Magazine.
