Legislation and Rules Committee

About the Committee

Unlike the Issues and Advocacy Committee whose mission is to engage in study, deliberation, published research, and public education, the Legislation and Rules Committee works directly with policymakers to appropriately represent the views of the defense bar and to protect the integrity and fairness of the civil justice system. This can take various forms including providing testimony, public comment, counsel, and research to elected and appointed officials and government agencies. Where the issue arises on a state or local level, the Committee works closely with the relevant SLDO to provide assistance, resources, and counsel.
